Free wildflower apps are now available for most states, most Canadian provinces and Northern Mexico. These Apps use the WildflowerSearch database. The Apps are self contained and do not use the internet. These apps are large and require WiFi for installation. Sometimes there are similar apps that you must pay for. They may be easier to find in the store. But these Wildflower Search apps may be more to your liking.

Most apps are updated about once a year. The process of updating them takes many months. Most apps were last updated in July of 2025. Some scientific names were updated. Some plant photos and plant descriptions were added. The links to external websites were updated. Some bugs were fixed. For USA apps, the name search now accepts the USDA plant code.

The Chile/Argentina apps were updated in August of 2024.

Android apps will no longer be updated after API level 36 becomes manditory. Android is requiring changes to all of my windows and I am not up to making those changes. Keeping the content up to date for the Apple apps will take all of my effort.
